The PGA Tour heads to TPC Sawgrass this weekend to play the 5th major, the top players in the world will descend on TPC Sawgrass in March this year instead of its usual time of May. We have every one of the Top 30 players here this week and they are in hot form for the most part. I will pick my best Betting Tips for the Players Championship this week.

Lets get into it!

The Golf Course

TPC Sawgrass measures 7245 yards and accuracy is a must, the closing holes are some of the most testing on the tour and make for great drama every year.

TPC Sawgrass Flyover

The weather is fine for the week with a slight breeze all week and some drizzle forecast for Sunday, the weather conditions shouldn’t impact either side of the draw.

There are plenty of the top players in form coming into the Players Championship which makes this such a difficult tournament to pick. Dustin Johnson won the WGC event in Mexico a couple of weeks ago and Justin Rose won the Farmers but neither seem to perform too great at the Players. Justin has just one top 10 from 16 starts. Rickie Fowler won at Phoenix and Rory McIlroy has been in the top 6 in his last 5 events, both of which are likely to contend heavily this week. Francesco Molinari was also solid last week at the Arnold Palmer winning by 2 shots but I don’t see a back to back being on the cards for Francesco. The great man Tiger Woods is playing and is slowly improving leading up to the Masters, he isn’t quite putting it all together at the moment so give him a couple more weeks before backing him.

The Tips

Best Bet (Winner Market)

Rory McIlroy – $13@ Ladbrokes

Rory is in ridiculous form this year, he has finished in the top 6 in his last 5 events, it’s just a matter of time before he clocks up his first W of the year. He has finished in the Top 10 at the Players in the past and he is in excellent form at the moment. $13 is short but he’ll more than likely be shorter heading into Sunday.

Second Best (Winner Market)

Ricky Fowler – $23 @ Ladbrokes
This guy won in the first week of Feb and was runner up in the Honda 2 weeks ago, he won the players championship in 2015 so he does like the course. He had an average week last week but look for him to bounce back this week and be amongst the Sunday action.

Roughies (Winner Market)

Byeung-Hun An – $101.00 @ Ladbrokes

Rafa Cabrera-Bello – $51.00 @ Ladbrokes

Tommy Fleetwood – $34.00 @ Ladbrokes

Where to bet on the Golf

Topbetta is unique as they offer both a standard betting platform and a tournament platform bundled into one. Each day and night they run tournaments where you can buy in for ‘x’ amount of dollars (ranging from $2-$100). From there you are given an amount of ‘BettaBucks’ that you can bet on any race throughout the designated time, the player with the most BettaBucks at the end of the last race will scoop a % of the pool. This is definitely a drawcard and adds an extra fun element to punting.

Neds arrived with a bang onto the Australian punting scene and it’s no wonder they hit the ground running as they were launched by the former Ladbrokes CEO, Dean Shannon. Much like Ladbrokes, Neds offer a massive amount of markets with great odds and some of the best promotions around.
