Lets get into the Round 11 AFL tips and pick some winners for round 11 of the AFL Season.
Nth Melbourne V Richmond
Richmond are cementing their place on the ladder and are starting to look like the team of the past couple of years despite their injury concerns. Dustin Martin returning to form is a huge help, Bachar Houli has been great in defence and the young Liam Baker is putting plenty of pressure on in the forward line.
North have been through some turmoil this week with Brad Scott being moved on and Rhys Shaw taking his place. North managed to get their third win of the season last week which was a good way to farewell Brad Scott as coach.
I expect North to put up another good effort this week although the class of the Tigers should shine through and lead them to an easy victory.
Match Prediction – Richmond by 25 points
Collingwood V Fremantle
The Pies only just limped over the line against the Swans last week in what was a surprising result. This week they regain Jordan DeGoey and Darcy Moore who are two big inclusions. Travis Varcoe also comes into the lineup.
Fremantle managed to beat the Lions by 1 point at home last week in a nail biter, Michael Walters kicked a point from 50 after the siren with the game tied.
The Pies have won the past four matches between these two teams and this one should follow the same form line. Fremantle have a better team this year than what they’ve had over the past few years so they should be able to keep the margin from blowing out.
Match Prediction – Collingwood by 30
GWS V Gold Coast
Gold Coast managed to match it with Geelong for three quarters last week which was impressive considering the form the Cats have been in. They travel down to Sydney this week though in what’s going to be another tough week for them against GWS.
GWS put to rest any talk about them not being able to play at the MCG last week when they embarrassed Melbourne. This week they are back on the home deck and face the Gold Coast Suns who they have beaten the last 6 times they have played them.
With Gold Coast managing to hang in there last week for the majority of the game against the Cats there’s no reason why they can’t do it again this week. The line is at 50.5 points which is massive so I’ll be taking the Suns to cover that line.
Match Prediction – GWS by 38
Geelong V Sydney
Geelong are sitting on top of the ladder with only one blemish on their record for the year. Gary Ablett finally managed to get himself rubbed out for a week so he will miss this game although the inclusion of Patrick Dangerfield is a good replacement.
Sydney just fell short of the Pies last week and are playing better footy than they were at the start of the year. Lance Franklin is back and looks to be moving freely after a few weeks on the sidelines.
Usually when you look at the match ups at GMHBA stadium Geelong have a heavy dominance over the visiting team although not in this case. Sydney have beaten Geelong on their home deck the last three times and have won 4 of their past 6 meetings.
I think Geelong will win but Sydney seem to like it down in cat land so I like the line of +30.5 for the Swans.
Match Prediction – Geelong by 6

Brisbane V Hawthorn
The Hawks were good last week beating Port by 31 points, they took command late in the first quarter and always had control of the match. Ricky Henderson continued his excellent form racking up 37 disposals and Gunston was great down forward slotting 6 snags.
Brisbane had a tough loss last week, they looked as though they had the match in the bag half way through the last quarter but the Dockers came home hard to win by a point after the siren.
Being back on the home deck will make a big difference to Brisbane this week, they have only lost 1 of their 5 matches at the Gabba this year which was against Collingwood in round 5.
Match Prediction – Brisbane by 18
Melbourne V Adelaide
Melbourne had a must win game last week and they came out and looked like they weren’t even trying, it was one of the most insipid performances I’ve ever seen.
Adelaide hang on to their spot in the 8 after being beaten by 12 points at home by the Eagles last week.
After the Dees performance last week I really think they are going to struggle to beat any team in the league so I’ll be taking the Crows in this one.
Match Prediction – Adelaide by 27
St Kilda V Port Adelaide
We head to China where the Saints face Port Adelaide in a cash grab for both clubs.
The Saints got back on the winners list last week defeating Carlton by 13 points in what was a fairly scrappy contest.
Port were smashed by the Hawks last week and only managed to kick a total of 49 points which isn’t going to be enough in any game.
Port Adelaide have won all of the past five matches played between these two clubs but they were all played at the Adelaide Oval where Port have an obvious advantage. This one is on neutral territory and the Saints have been playing some solid footy, it won’t surprise me if they can get the win in China.
Match Prediction – St Kilda by 12
Betting Tip – St Kilda to win- $2.55 @ BetEasy – Click here to see the market
Essendon V Carlton
The Bombers lost by 23 points last week to Richmond but the biggest loss was Dylan Shiel and Jake Stringer being added to their talented injury list.
Carlton lost to the Saints by 13 points last week in a scrappy game but their effort and intensity was quite good throughout
Carlton have put up some brave performances this year but it’s time they start getting a few wins on the board and this game will be a good one to start. The Bombers are missing Dylan Shiel, Orazio Fantasia, Jake Stringer, Joe Daniher and Devon Smith.
That is a lot of top end talent to be missing from any team and Carlton will be trying their best to capitalise on it.
Match Prediction – Carlton by 5
West Coast V Western Bulldogs
The Bulldogs travel over to Perth to face the 2018 premiers on their home deck. The Dogs are currently sitting 13th on the ladder with only 4 wins for the year. They were beaten by North last week so it’s going to be a near impossible task for them to get the win against the Eagles this week.
Match Prediction – West Coast by 48
