Lets get into the Round 12 AFL tips and pick some winners for round 12 of the AFL Season.
Richmond V Geelong
Richmond lost to the Kangaroos last week and they were beaten in the midfield which will be a huge focus for them this week. This will be Trent Cotchin’s second game back from injury and he should be fitter than last week. They need a lift out of Josh Caddy and Dion Prestia and hopefully Dustin Martin spends more time in the middle this week.
Geelong have been on fire losing only one game for the year although this is a danger game for them. Richmond have defeated Geelong the last 3 times they’ve played at the G.
Last weeks loss should serve as a wake up call for the Tigers and they will relish this game against the top side in the comp, i’ll be taking last years minor premiers to win by a slim margin.
Match Prediction – Richmond by 12 points
Carlton V Brisbane
The Blues take on Brisbane at Marvel Stadium in their first clash under interim coach David Teague. Usually teams fire up the week after a coach is fired and manage to get the win although I don’t see it happening in this case. Carlton’s team lacks the skill and ability to beat the Brisbane Lions this year.
Match Prediction – Brisbane by 32
Gold Coast V Nth Melbourne
This will be a close one between North and the Gold Coast up at Metricon. North have won the last two since Brad Scotts sacking was announced and Gold Coast have been up and down although they have performed quite well at Metricon this year.
The last time these two teams met at Metricon was in 2017 where Gold Coast won by 19 points. This game could go either way but I like the line of +17.5 for the Gold Coast.
Match Prediction – Nth Melbourne by 4
Adelaide V GWS
Once again Bryce Gibbs is omitted for the Crows, his failure to work hard defensively seems to be the reason for his third omission for the year. They will welcome back Matt Crouch this week which is a very handy inclusion.
GWS lose Lachie Whitfield this week although they regain Zac Williams who is a very similar player to Lachie.
GWS have beaten Adelaide the last two times they’ve played including once at Adelaide Oval. The form of the Giants has been great and they should be able to get the win over Adelaide.
Match Prediction – GWS by 22

Sydney V West Coast
West Coast slaughtered the Dogs last week and are really warming into this season. Sydney on the other hand have been streaky at best and have lost their last two.
West Coast will miss Shannon Hurn this week after he went down with a hamstring injury last week.
The form of the Eagles can’t be overlooked and Sydney will struggle to match it with their elite midfield of Yeo, Gaff, Sheed, Shuey, etc..
Match Prediction – West Coast by 12
Collingwood V Melbourne
The Big Freeze at the G takes place on Queens Birthday between Melbourne and Collingwood.
With the absolute garbage Melbourne have dished up this year it looks like this game will be an impossible task for them. I expect them to come out with a fair bit of intensity due to the occasion of the game but in the end they will more than likely get over run by the Pies.
Match Prediction – Collingwood by 17
