It is last chance saloon for two teams this week In Week 2 of the 2018 NRL finals. Who will advance to take on Melbourne Storm and Sydney Roosters.
Cronulla Sharks V Penrith Panthers
James Maloney and Matt Moylan have been getting the headlines in the lead up to this match. They swapped clubs last season and now find themselves matched up in a cut throat final. You would have to say that it looks like the Panthers have come of best in this deal. Maloney have been sensational for the Panthers and NSW and will be looking to guide the Panthers to victory on Friday night.
Nathan Cleary has flourished with the arrival of Maloney and I believe he will have a big game in this one. The Panthers look to have more avenues to score. Villiame Kikau, Tyrone Peachey and Dallin Watene Zelezniak have been prolific this season with 10 line breaks a piece this season.
Cronulla cannot be discounted in this match. If Andrew Fifita can get the upper hand over Reagan Campbell Gillard this could go a long way to possibly securing victory for the Sharks. Valentine Holmes is the other gun for Cronulla who can really trouble the Panthers. He is probably the best player in the competition at the moment.
This will be a hard fought and brutal contest. The Sharks have to capitalise on their opportunities. This was an area they failed in last week against the Roosters. If they can do this they are a chance. However I believe that the Panthers are in better form and are well lead by Maloney and Cleary and will be too strong for the Sharks especially in the absence of one of their top players in Wade Graham.

South Sydney Rabbitohs V St George Dragons
The teams have met twice so far this season with both sides notching up a win. Both meetings were early in the season. The Dragons won 16-12 in Round 5 .The Rabbitohs got their revenge in Round 10 with a 24-10 victory.
This Final looks like it could go either way. The Dragons had a stunning win over the Broncos last week while the Rabbitohs went down in a close affair with Melbourne. I believe the Rabbitohs were a touch unlucky last week and could have beaten the Storm. If it was any other team other than Melbourne they would probably have got the chocolates.
The forward battle between the two England team mates James Graham and Sam Burgess will be brutal.Sam’s brothers have also been impressive for South Sydney this season. Another battle that will be decisive in the outcome of the match involves the backrowers Tariq Sims and Tyson Frizzel for the Dragons and John Sutton and Angus Crichton. Sims and Frizzel were superb last week against the Broncos However Sutton and Crichton are rock solid and as tough a combination as any in the competition.
I think the deciding factor in this match will be the injury to Gareth Widdop he has guided Ben hunt through a difficult patch. Hunt was superb last week against his old team. However it is hard to see him reproducing this form without Widdop. Kurt Mann comes in for this one but as good as he is I do not think he can replace Widdop.
I believe that the Rabbitohs would have beaten any other side last week and their clash with Storm was played at a higher level that the other three finals. I think that South Sydney can still win the Grand Final and that is why I am tipping them to beat the Dragons in a close match.
