We’re on to round 2 of the NRL season and here I’ll provide my best tips and predictions for each game of the week.
Lets get into it!
St George V Rabbitohs
This should be very close. The Rabbitohs got their season started last week with a solid win over the Roosters. It will be interesting to see how they will back up this week against another of their traditional rivals. St George battled manfully in shocking conditions last week against the Cowboys. They eventually went down 24 -12 however it was a fairly good first up effort. They do not have a rampaging Jason Taumalolo to contend with this week. He was awesome for the Cowboys last week.
There is not much between these two sides and I believe the lift they will get playing at Kogarah in front of a big home crowd should be enough to get St George over the line.
Tip: St George to Win @ $2.45Bet now at Neds
Canberra V Storm
Melbourne were very impressive last week, I actually fancied the Broncos to beat them. However the Storm were never in danger. They seem to be adopting a different game plan this season and it will be interesting to see how it develops. Canberra also had a good win last week. Josh Papalii played a superb match in their win over the Titans .
Travelling to the Nations capital will hold no fears for Melbourne as they appear to have the wood over the Raiders. They have won 13 of 20 there. I think that pattern will continue this week and I am tipping the Storm.
Tip: Melbourne -4.5 @ $1.95Bet now at Neds
Broncos V Cowboys
This should be another close encounter. The Cowboys have an unchanged line up from the side that got over the top of St George last week. There are a few changes for Brisbane Matt Lodge is suspended for that shocking tackle on Cameron Munster. In comes Tevita Pangai Jr, which may even be an advantage. David Fifita also comes into the starting line up for the first time in 2019.
The Cowboys do not have a good record at Suncorp and have lost 6 of the last 7. I believe the Broncos will be desperate to square the ledger for the season and will get over the Cowboys in a nailbiter.
Tip: Broncos -4.5 /Over 38.5 @ $3.40Bet now at Neds
Cronulla V Gold Coast
The Titans have a surprisingly good record at Shark Park. They have won 3 of the last 4 meetings between the sides. Gold Coast have a couple of their better players missing for this one Ash Taylor and Tyrone Roberts are not available. The Sharks made a lot of mistakes last week and did not get Shaun Johnson into the game as much as they would like. I think Johnson and Josh Dugan will bounce back this week and lead the Sharks to a close win.
Tip: Cronulla 1-12 @ $2.75Bet now at Neds
Knights v Panthers
Newcastle were very solid looking last week in their win over the Sharks. Mitchell Pearce was controlling the plays with some great kicks. David Klemmer appears to be the player that they have been lacking and looks like a real leader. Penrith were very ill disciplined last week and will be looking to rectify that in this match. The Panthers were much fancied going into the season and are better than they showed against Parramatta last week.
Penrith have a good record against the Knights and I believe they will bounce back this week and get the points. I am expecting a big performance from Nathan Cleary.
Tip: Penrith to Win @ $2.18Bet now at Neds
Manly V Roosters
The Roosters have resisted the temptation of making changes after a disappointing loss to the Rabbitohs last week. Trent Robinson is showing faith in his players to bounce back this week. Manly have made a couple of changes for this match Fonua Blake is out suspended and Trent Hodkinson has been dropped. The Sea Eagles are missing Tom Trbojevic something shocking and will be hoping he can get back sooner rather than later. However they will be taking no chances with his ankle injury.
I believe the Roosters will bounce back here and will do so convincingly.
Tip: Roosters/Over 42.5 @ $2.40Bet now at Neds
Bulldogs V Eels
The Bulldogs defence looked very shaky in last week when they were demolished by the Warriors. They will not be coming into this game with a great deal of confidence having lost 5 of the last 6 matches against the Eels. They go into the match with an unchanged line up in a show of faith by coach Dean Pay. However look for changes next week if they do not get the job done here.
The Eels were very good last week winning a cracking match over the Panthers. Blake Ferguson looks like he will be a massive addition to the Eels side. He was very impressive last week and he has signalled his intent to win back an origin spot with The Blues.
I think that the Eels will dispose of a disappointing Bulldogs outfit.
Tip: Eels -1.5/Under 37.5 @ $3.40Bet now at Neds
Wests Tigers V Warriors
The Warriors got their season off to a great start last week thumping the Bulldogs by 34 points. Their forward pack looked awesome and Tuivasa Sheck has picked up where he left of last year. I think the NZ outfit can go deep this season. The Tigers were also very good last week led by evergreen Robbie Farah. Robert Jennings also had an excellent match. This for me is the match of the round it will be tight and very physical.
The Warriors get Isaiah Papali’i back to bolster the interchange. I believe the Warriors a better travelling side than they have been previously and I see them winning this match.
Tip: Warriors +1.5/over 37.5 @ $ 3.40Bet now at Neds
