We have had a look at the teams now in the first two rounds and it looks like it could be a very close run competition. There are some massive ins and outs this week,so lets take a look at the matches.
Lets get into it!
Broncos V Dragons
Last week’s performance by the Broncos was what I was expecting in the first round against the Storm. Pangai Jr was awesome and he was ably assisted by the rest of the young forwards.
The Dragons have got off to a nightmare start losing both opening matches. They seem out of sync to me with Gareth Widdop at full back. I can’t see them getting the points here the Broncos look too strong.
Tip: Broncos 13+ @ $2.50Bet now at Neds
Raiders V Knights
This looks like it will be very close. The Raiders were comprehensively taken apart by Melbourne last week. The matches between these sides are normally very high scoring affairs and this should be no exception. Jordan Rapana made his return last week and was quiet. He should be better for the run.
Mitchell Pearce and Kalyn Ponga need to address the scrutiny they are going to come under. Penrith looked to be targeting them last week and they could not get the job done. If they can really get a grip of this match Newcastle could get over the line. I am going for the Knights in a close one.
Tip: Knights + 2.5 @ $1.90Bet now at Neds
Eels V Roosters
Luke Keary is in brilliant form and Cooper Cronk was not missed in last weeks win over Manly. Cronk and Jake Friend return this week to bolster the Premiers. The Eels cannot be faulted so far this season and Blake Ferguson is flying. Michael Jennings returns from suspension and will be a welcome addition.
I am going to go for the Roosters here, as the Eels do not have a good record at ANZ stadium.
Tip: Roosters -7.5 @ $1.85Bet now at Neds
Manly V Warriors
Manly are playing this home game in Christchurch which is unfortunate timing due to the recent tragic event. The Sea Eagles have a massive inclusion this week with the return of Tom Trbojevic.
The Warriors will be looking to bounce back in this match. After a superb Round 1 victory they were embarrassing last week, it was a shocking effort against the Tigers.
I think there will a massive emotional element to this match and the Warriors will bounce back against the Sea Eagles.
Tip: Warriors @ $1.62Bet now at Neds
Cowboys V Sharks
The Cowboys suffered a massive blow last week losing Jason Taumalolo for the next ten rounds. Paul Green has reacted to last weeks loss shuffling his backline around.
Cronulla have been looking good defensively and are hard to beat. The Titans should probably have beaten them last week if not for that last line of defence.
Paul Gallen breaks ET’s record for appearances for the Sharks and he should have a great battle with Josh McGuire.
I am backing the Cowboys to bounce back at home and defeat the Sharks in a close one.
Tip: Cowboys @ $2.05Bet now at Neds
Panthers V Storm
Penrith were a little fortunate to beat the Knights last week and were not convincing. Nathan Cleary looks to be feeling his way at his new club and needs to impose himself more on the match. His combination with James Maloney will determine where they finish on the ladder.
Melbourne have picked up where they left off last year and are looking awesome. they have named an unchanged line up for this match and why would they not. Vunivalu was superb for Melbourne last week and the ageless Cameron Smith is conducting the orchestra beautifully.
I can only see one outcome in this match and that is a win to the Storm.
Tip: Storm – 4.5 @ $1.90Bet now at Neds
Tigers V Bulldogs
Robbie Farah is in vintage form and is pulling his team mates along with him. The defensive work of the Tigers has also been outstanding conceding only twelve points in their first two games.
The Bulldogs have made a number of changes this week in response to a dreadful start to the season. They seem to be lacking leadership when they are under the pump and the floodgates open. They have conceded 76 points in their first two matches and this does not get the job done at this level.
I can see the Tigers continuing their excellent form and getting the points in this match.
Tip: Tigers over 40.5 @ $2.60Bet now at Neds
Rabbitohs V Titans
Sam Burgess is obviously enjoying playing under Wayne Bennett. The big Englishman is in almost career best form.Greg Inglis is just going and watch out when the Rabbitohs hit top form and all their guns are firing.
The Titans are winless and like the Bulldogs are just leaking too many points and that is a recipe for disaster when you are struggling to get points on the board yourself. They have only scored one try this season compared to the Rabbitohs who have ran in eleven.
This is why I can only see one outcome in this match and that is a convincing win to South Sydney.
Tip: Rabbitohs -12.5 @ $1.90Bet now at Neds
