We have a curtailed fixture of matches this week prior to Origin 1.It can be tricky predicting the outcome of matches in the Origin period due to teams losing their star players. However we will see if we can find some winners and some value.
Let’s get into this weeks matches.
Panthers V Sea Eagles
The Panthers notched up a much needed win over the Eels at Bankwest Stadium. This was an especially meritorious win as Parramatta have been very impressive at their new home. Nathan Cleary misses this one due to his Origin call up. So James Maloney must run the show in his comeback from suspension. I believe he will relish the challenge.
Manly were 12 points up last week and looking comfortable. They then proceeded to concede 7 tries to suffer a shock loss to the Titans. It was a loss that may come back to haunt them at the business end of the season.Jake Trbojevic will be missed in this one but Joel Thompson steps up as Skipper and I believe he will lead Manly with great effect.
I am going to forgive Manly a bad one last week and tip them to beat Penrith.

Eels V Rabbitohs
Parramatta were disappointing last week and their season looks to be tailing off. They have a good opportunity to get the points against the ladder leaders. Sth Sydney have lost key players to Origin so the Eels must be looking to take advantage.
The Rabbitohs are rolling along nicely. Wayne Bennett has made a fantastic start at the helm of this side. Bennett will be well equipped to handle the tribulations of losing star players to Origin. He has the Burgess boys and John Sutton who is playing well. There are also some young players who have been performing well at the lower level and will be keen to show the coach what they are capable of.
I expect the Rabbitohs to be too strong and they will defeat the Eels. They are great value.

Bulldogs V Raiders
The young Bulldogs side were given a lesson by Melbourne last week but they seem to be improving. They are 2-3 over the last five but look to be building. They will be missing their enforcer this week with Dylan Napa on origin duty for the Maroons.
The Raiders were beaten by the Cowboys last week but they were not disgraced. Canberra still have a few key players missing but their core is largely intact.
I believe the Raiders are good value @ $1.90 and I am tipping them to bounce back this week.

Titans V Cowboys
The Titans had a good win last week over Manly and will be chockful of confidence. They go into the game without Jai Arrow who has been in sensational form. Ashley Taylor showed some promising signs last week however I am yet to be convinced that he is the man to lead the Titans.
The Cowboys also had a good win last week over the Raiders in a hard fought encounter. Jason Tamalolo looks like he is back to his best. Coen Hess returns for the Cowboys . This will somewhat lessen the effect of the loss of Michael Morgan and Josh McGuire.
This looms as a very tight match and is hard to call. I believe Taumalolo will get the Cowboys over the line.
