This week is being dubbed Magic Round. Every match will be played at Suncorp Stadium over the four days. It is an interesting concept and will be interesting to see how it is received. Hopefully the close games keep coming.
Lets get into it!
Titans V Sharks
Cronulla upset the odds last week when they defeated Melbourne. It was a great result considering their injury problems. Shaun Johnson will be out for the next 4 to 6 weeks but the Sharks covered him last week and should be able to do so again. Another top performer this season is Andrew Fifita who is flying.
Gold Coast Titans are having a frustrating season. They seemed to be getting things on track when they won two games in a row then they have lost their last two.The Titans are languishing in 14th spot on the ladder and badly need a win.
The neutral venue could play a part in this match and I am going to go for the Titans at the line. There may be a bit of a let down factor for the Sharks after their big win over the Storm.
Tip: Titans + 2.5 @ $1.80 – NedsBet now at Neds
Wests Tigers V Panthers
Benji Marshall returns for the Tigers this week after missing the last six weeks. He will be a settling influence on the Tigers and provide leadership that has been missing. They have had a couple of floggings in the last three rounds and desperately need to get back on track.
Penrith are an enigma this season. You have to go back to Round 4 to find their last win and that was a golden point win against this weeks opponent. Since then they have been diabolical and sit in second bottom spot on the ladder.
This is a very difficult match to call as none of the teams have been impressive of late. I am going to select the Tigers to gain revenge for the narrow loss in Round 4.
Tip: Tigers @ $1.90 – NedsBet now at Neds
Sea Eagles V Broncos
The Broncos season goes from bad to worse, they were a rabble last week. The Rabbitohs took them apart and you have to question of the wisdom of the appointment of Anthony Seibold. He has swung the axe this week dropping James Roberts and Jamayne Isaako to reserve grade and Pangai Junior moves to the bench. This smacks of desperation and not a good move in my opinion.
Manly’s defence has tightened up this season. They are fifth for points conceded this season compared with last in 2018. They appear to be covering for DCE and have had a couple of handy wins in the last two matches.
The odds for Manly are too good to knock back and I am going to select them to win a tight match.
Tip: Sea Eagles @ $2.32 – NedsBet now at Neds
Bulldogs V Knights
Newcastle appear to be getting their season back on track. They have two good wins in a row and were outstanding last week knocking off the Warriors in NZ. Mitchell Pearce and Kalyn Ponga were superb and really seem to playing their way into form.
Canterbury Bulldogs have had a couple of good wins and almost got over the line against Melbourne. However they seem to struggle to field the same line up form week to week. They are at the bottom of the ladder and will struggle to move up the table.
I cannot go past the Knights here and believe that they will continue their march up the ladder. They are my best bet for the week.
Tip: Best Bet Knights 1-12 @ $2.90 – NedsBet now at Neds
Warriors V Dragons
Kodi Nikorima will make his debut for the Warriors after being shown the door at the Broncos. He has a point to prove and I believe he will be great pick for the Warriors. They Warriors are frustrating this season they play some good football but still turn in some shockers.
St George are a frustrating team in 2019 also. They have been well beaten in their last two matches after looking impressive in the two before those.
The Warriors have a good record at Suncorp and I am going to select them to win this match.
Tip: Warriors @ $2.32 – NedsBet now at Neds
Storm V Eels
Craig Bellamy has shown faith in the players who were defeated by the Sharks last week. However if they do not get the job done here expect a huge back lash from the coach. He laid it on the line last week that he will not hesitate to look for new players. I believe the Storm players will have taken that on board.
Parramatta are having a much improved season. They are in 5th spot on the ladder and look like they are going to be very tough to beat at the new Bankwest stadium. They have two wingers who are in good form with Blake Ferguson in superb form.
I cannot go past Melbourne in this one. They have a great record at Suncorp and it will be a worrying sign if they lose three in a row. I cannot see that happening, Melbourne for me.
Tip: Storm @ $1.42 – NedsBet now at Neds
Roosters V Raiders
This match should be a belter. The Roosters are playing sensational football and have only lost one match for the season and that was in Round 1 when they were defeated by South Sydney. Since then they have been steamrolling some teams with Latrell Mitchell in superb form. He was simply outstanding last week scoring three tries and had six conversions to destroy the Tigers.
Canberra have been impressive so far. Their English imports have slotted into the NRL and look comfortable. One of them John Bateman will miss the next eight weeks with an eye injury. He will be sorely missed.
It is hard to see the Raiders stopping the Roosters run of form. I am selecting the Roosters to win a tough match.
Tip: Roosters -7.5 @ $1.80 – NedsBet now at Neds
Rabbitohs V Cowboys
Jason Taumalolo made his return for the Cowboys last week and was very impressive. They defeated the Titans last week and you wonder how it would have went without the impact of Taumalolo. The Cowboys are 14th on the ladder and you cannot ignore the fact that they allow the most line breaks in the competition. If they continue in this form the Rabbitohs pack will destroy them.
The Rabbitohs are on a four match winning streak and were awesome last week against the Broncos. The Rabbitohs are well rested for this game having a ten day break. South Sydney are the only team to defeat the all conquering Roosters and have a lot of players in great form.
The battle between Sam Burgess and Jason Taumalolo should be worth the price of admission.
I am going to select the Rabbitohs they are in too good form to be upset in this one.
Tip: Rabbitohs – 8.5 @ $1.90 – NedsBet now at Neds

|Topbetta is unique as they offer both a standard betting platform and a tournament platform bundled into one. Each day and night they run tournaments where you can buy in for ‘x’ amount of dollars (ranging from $2-$100). From there you are given an amount of ‘BettaBucks’ that you can bet on any race throughout the designated time, the player with the most BettaBucks at the end of the last race will scoop a % of the pool. This is definitely a drawcard and adds an extra fun element to punting.|
