We head to Toronto Canada for UFC 231 where Brian Ortega will meet the Featherweight champion Max Holloway for the Championship. The Co-Main event will see Valentina Shevchenko face Joanna Jedrzejczyk in her UFC Flyweight title defence. We have looked through the main card and picked our best betting tips.
Kingpunters is the spot for your UFC 231 Betting tips.
Let’s get into it.
Brian Ortega V Max Holloway
This is going to be one of the best fights of the year, since Max Holloway lost to Conor McGregor way back in 2013 he has won every fight on his way to the title. Brian Ortega has won every mma fight he’s been in and half of those have come by the way of submission.
Max Holloway’s record is ridiculously good, in his last 3 fights he has beaten Anthony Pettis and Jose Aldo twice. Both are world class fighters and it really shows how far he’s come as a fighter, his stand up is the best in the division and he is competitive when the fight goes to ground. What worries me about Max is his health, he has been forced to pull out of fights recently due to health concerns related to the big weight cut he needs to undertake to make the 145lb weight. He has also never faced a fighter with Ortega’s ability on the ground.
Brian Ortega is hungry for the title and I think he will try to take this fight to the ground as soon as possible to counteract Max’s superior stand up ability, once on the ground this fight will be in Ortega’s favour.
Ortega is a smart fighter and he will make the fight play into his strengths.

Valentina Shevchenko V Joanna Jedrzejczyk
Joanna Jedrezejcyk moves up in weight class after being defeated by Rose Namajunas twice in the straweight division. She moves up to face the champion Valentina Shevchenko, the only problem with this is that she has faced Shevchenko 3 times before in her kickboxing career, all 3 times she was beaten and I see this fight going the same way. Both fighters are from Muay Thai background and Valentina has proven she is the better kick boxer of the two, the thing is she is also the better grappler and has won 7 of her fight by submission.
Valentina is the better all round fighter here and I think she’ll be able to stop Joanna.
Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko to win – $1.28 @ Ladbrokes – BET HERE
Precision Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko by KO/TKO/SUB – $3.40 @ Ladbrokes – BET HERE
