Justin Gaethje takes on Edson Barboza in the UFC on ESPN 2 main event card at the Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia. I’m loving the way the UFC is setup this year with Fight Nights and UFC in ESPN filling in the weeks between the main UFC events.

I have previewed the main event and given my tips for the rest of the fights in the summary below.

Check out the Ladbrokes UFC Markets, they are the recommended  bookie for your UFC bets, check out Ladbrokes here.

Edson Barboza V Justin Gaethje

Justin Gaethje is 19 and 2 in his MMA career an he lives up to his nickname ‘The Highlight’, 16 of his 19 wins have come by way of KO/TKO. He comes forward and fights aggressively trusting in his ability to take a hit. The problem with that is since he has been in the UFC Gaethje’s chin has been tested 2 of the 4 occasions and resulted in KO’s. The better class of opponents in the UFC seem to withstand his fighting style better. Gaethje prefers to keep the fight standing but he’s wrestled since the age of four and is proficient on the ground.

Edson Barboza has a 20 and 6 record with his losses coming against some of the best in the division with the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee being on that list. Barboza comes from a Muay Thai background and will look to use his striking to pick Gaethje apart.

You can expect a highlight reel in this fight with both fighters preferring to stand and trade. I believe Gaethje will be too reckless with his approach in this fight and Barboza will be precise and pick him to pieces resulting in a second round KO.

Tip – Edson Barboza to win – $1.75 @ Ladbrokes

Precision Prediction – Edson Barboza by KO/TKO/SUB in round 2

Topbetta is unique as they offer both a standard betting platform and a tournament platform bundled into one. Each day and night they run tournaments where you can buy in for ‘x’ amount of dollars (ranging from $2-$100). From there you are given an amount of ‘BettaBucks’ that you can bet on any race throughout the designated time, the player with the most BettaBucks at the end of the last race will scoop a % of the pool. This is definitely a drawcard and adds an extra fun element to punting.
